*Ikkan is an excellent swimmer. She is fast and agile in the water and isn't afraid to use that speed to her advantage.
*She also has reflexes and strength from her betta DNA. Don't let her good looks and charms fool you! She has quick reflexes and a nice bit of muscle hidden in that lean body of hers. While she isn't super powerful, she can still hold her own in a fight.
*Yet, despite that, she was never really trained to fight. She hates it, and would rather run away or help tend the wound of those who were injured.
*When it gets too hot and dry out, she will be adversely affected. Due to the fish in her, too much heat will affect her as if she has the flu.

Ikkan speaks fondly of her family, as if she had just visited them, or sees them everyday. Her mother was a teacher's aide over at such-and-such university. Having a knack for history, she talked with her mother late into the night about historical events and what was taught in class that day. Her father was a very successful business man, and the family lived well. She was the older sibling and had a younger brother, and she will go on and on about how cute and sweet he was. Ikkan NEVER says anything bad about her family, and only speaks about them in the highest regard as if their life was perfect.
Yet perfect is far from what her family was. Her family didn't accept her wanting to change gender. They talked her down and made her participate in kendo and judo and football and other 'male' sports. They made sure she didn't get into her mother's make up, and constantly searched her room to make sure she didn't get any feminine clothes from friends. Her father barely made enough money to scrape by and coupled with her brother's hospital bills, they sometimes had to sacrifice food or electricity. Her brother, always sick, was a prime concern for the whole family. The part that is true from the above is that Ikkan did take a job at the hospital to help her brother, and was kidnapped along with him.
Why does she chose to lie like that? In her eyes, it's not lying. I could be seen as sugar coating, and Ikkan wishes to remember her family well, like one wouldn't say anything bad about the dead. So, sure, she'll say, they had some hard times. But who doesn't? Her parents did their best and loved her very much, despite being confused about her gender identity. And her brother was the apple of her eye - still is, really! She wants to be happy now, and believes that the way she can do it is to be happy about her past and family and who she was beforehand as well.

Ikkan's past is very straightforward. She lived with her parents and brother in a house until she took a job at the hospital to care for her brother's health. However, she always colors it differently. Instead of speaking of her hardships that her parents put her through when she said she wished to be a girl, she will lie - and force herself to believe - that they accepted her and loved her for who she was. Her parents 'never' fought and 'always' had time for their children. She tells these as if they were true, and tries to believe them herself for the sake of her own happiness.
Ikkan will write off her abduction as a mix up in the hospital. But what really happened was she volunteered as a nurse in a local hospital that her brother wound up in. To stay close and visit, she would tend to other patients. However, things soon changed as her brother was pronounced dead in an operating incident. Stunned, she demanded the details, and realized he was pronounced 'dead' as Ikkan was visiting him. Temper flaring, she demanded to know what was going on and caused a huge fuss, almost blowing the cover the hospital had with the Schools. She was attacked and kidnapped, sent off to the hospital with her brother where they were experimented and tested on. She was able to escape when a flash flood ripped through her part of the wards. Her brother had been long dead before then, and she refuses to speak of it.

*She is always very bubbly and very happy. Not much can get this spitfire down! She likes to flirt with people her age, and pick on (all in fun) the younger students. Of course, she always makes sure they know she is just joking and never aims to hurt. She is very secure in her sexuality, and will not respond to male-oriented names. She will not allow a situation to fall out of control if she can help it, and is always willing to try new things and meet new people. Of course, she knows a lot about survival and isn't the least bit afraid to get her hair muddy. Surviving first, looking good second.
*Speaking of looking good, she has a weakness for self-indulging. She loves getting bangles, bracelets, bandannas, flowy skirts, and anything colorful. Eating sweets like chocolate and candies is something she will do often when she is running from the truth about her family and teh circumstances that led her to the present. At times, one can find her curled up in a corner with a warm drink, something sweet, and a history book.
*That being said, she is stubborn as a mule. She will rarely cry and rarely show people her unhappy side. The stable entity in her life is keeping her happiness, even if it is a facade. Every once in a while, someone will say something to remind her of unhappy times, and she will slip away from a quiet time for herself.
*Ikkan's hair changed color when she was implanted with betta DNA. She never knows what color it will turn next and is surprisingly okay with that.
*She won't wear shoes.

"Sugar, I may have been born a boy, but I have grown into a dazzling young woman. And if you can't accept that, well it's no problem of mine!"
